What qualifications do our employees have?

Often when you research different home improvement companies, or contractors, you find that many of the staff is not really qualified to do the job. Selecting such an expensive, major project such as windows or siding should not be taken lightly. It would be similar to selecting doctors, lawyers, and accountants. Everyone has to start somewhere but as a homeowner you probably prefer to deal with someone who knows their field perfectly. Most of our staff specializes in a certain area and focuses on the job at hand.

Our marketing manager has spent years nearly 8 years with us and nearly 8 years in prior marketing. His job is to research demographics of areas that would appeal to us placing a model home. We sometimes actually take a loss on a job in order to gain word of mouth advertisement from a home in a well positioned area. His job is incredibly intense and detail specific, and he spends many countless hours driving around the syracuse area and beyond searching for areas we would like to target for our model home programs.

Our sales staff is on call 7 days a week and treats your job as their priority. You will find the most expertise of all our staff within our consultants. None have less than 5 years experience and all our fully knowledgeable in construction design, finance, industry news, market direction, manufacturing technologies, and all stay abreast of our competitors. We fully believe we have the best options available at the best pricing for your needs. We refuse to hire new trainees because we find that they simply do not have the experience or knowledge to answer all your probable questions. You will find that our consultants will often have all your questions answered before you ask them!

Our office staff is comprised of a finance manager, office manager, and a few clerks. You will find that at C. Michael Exteriors even our clerks have years of experience working with us. Our office manager has been with us for 20 years! This level of experience allows us to manage our business wisely and efficiently which gives you less headaches! We will not lose your paperwork, or allow you to get "lost in the mix" like some of the larger high overhead companies.

Our ownership is dedicated to running a solid company built on solid ethics. We are not a "fly by night" company and have been in this business for decades. We share a unique position by offering quality materials that would not be available through most contractors, while not having the high overheads and flashy luxuries of the larger companies that bombard you with television advertisements and sweepstakes gimmicks.

Our installation crew is spearheaded by our senior carpenter. All of our staff is personally selected by him and we hire no illegal aliens or minors in order to save a few bucks. Installation can make or break our business and we only want the best for you regardless of how much you spend or what size your job is. You will find that we can handle any construction need of yours.

Sales Tax

Fortunately for the past years we have not had to charge the customer sales tax on any vinyl window or siding orders. This is because it is considered a capital improvement to the home and we are furnishing everything for you. New York State is trying to pass a bill that will change that on June 1st 2009. If this passes, then unfortunately we will have to begin charging you sales tax just like if you did it yourself. I wish this was not looming on the horizon but I can assure you that for now you will NOT have to pay any sales tax to the state when you hire C. Michael Exteriors to put new vinyl windows or siding on your home.

FINANCING PROMOTIONS

please keep in mind that these promotions are constantly changing and may or may not be available at the time of purchase. also be aware that not everyone will qualify for all promotions and credit worthiness with determine the options available.

National Grid Energy Rebate

If you are like me, you never smile when you get that letter in the mail from national grid! But how would you like to get one that gives you a rebate??? Lilian Parkhurst Installed! Model Home in BERNHARDS BAY

We actually were looking for a model home in the area east of central square when one of our marketing professionals mentioned that her grandmother lived in just the area we needed. Just recently we had installed all new windows for Mr and Mrs Kohut in West Monroe, and felt that this was an area that had alot of need for lower heating bills. Tiffany who works with us, got us in contact with her grandmother lilian and we sent a consultant right out to show her how we could help. There was plastic all over the windows and two of them especially were freezing cold. We ended up replacing them both with our superior grade windows to allow her the fuel savings and comfort she needed. Oh and there is no need anymore for that horrible plastic covering them!

Mary Vanelli Installed! Model home in CANASTOTA

Mary Vanelli was fortunate enough to come in contact with us because she really needed her windows replaced in her home. Ms Vanelli has a gorgeous home on high st in the village of Canastota and we were very very fortunate to be able to provide her with the high end windows she needed to keep those heating costs down. When mary mentioned that her boss was also mentioning about doing improvements, and that mary planned for siding in the future, we decided to work out an arrangement that allowed mary to receive our high end windows for the cost of the mid grade line! Dave & Nicole Gamble Installed! Model home in EAST SYRACUSE

Dave and Nicole had been thinking more and more about replacing their drafty windows although the house really was not too old. After the heating bills started to climb and climb it made them think a little more seriously about replacing his windows. After consulting with C. Michael Exteriors, they decided to go with our windows in a really nice beige color. About a week after the order they realized that we had all forgot about pricing the window in the garage so it would match! Abiding by our ethics of always suggesting what we feel is right for the customer, we suggested a slightly lower performance window since the garage was not heated like the house. This prevented Dave and Nicole from having to pay too much for something they didn't really need. I wonder who on Leafcrest Lane has the best looking and best performing windows, hmmmm????

Ron & Barb Richards Installed! Model Home in BLOSSVALE.

Ron and Barb Richards have a beautiful large house in Blossvale NY. They had been thinking about doing siding for years because the paint kept peeling. They had sears come out to quote them but they decided they were more comfortable trusting C. Michael Exteriors to do the work instead after consulting with us. The house is now looking gorgeous and is the first house on the right of fishcreek landing rd off of rt 49 in blossvale. We sided their whole house, installed a new entry and storm door, and also replaced three drafty windows upstairs. Actually we shortened the height of the windows so that the water damage they were experiencing would be eliminated. This actually turned out to be a very complicated situation and was alot worse than we originally thought but we spent hours fixing it right and abiding to our promise that the price would not increase once we started the job. Many companies and subcontractors would end up not showing the customer the damage that was done in the depth of the frame but we felt it better to have everyone involved and do it right so that we will never have to worry about bad word of mouth. Mr Ganetas was in need of a large amount of exterior and interior improvements to his large house on 7th North st on the corner of Court St in North Syracuse. A lot of people do not realize that we also will provide other services when grouped together with a siding or window job. C. Don and Peg Buckley Installed!! Model home in LIVERPOOL

Don and Peg Buckley needed to update their old shingle siding. They were tired of the way it looked and tired of maintaining it. Who do you think got the job done for them? Ask them how they watched peoples houses down the street take weeks to side and ours only took a couple days. When we send our carpenters to side a house we send sometimes eight at one time! Every one of our men have a specific job function that allows everyone to work in unison like a PERFECTLY oiled machine. Alan Bradley Installed! Model home in KING FERRY

Well we first contacted Mr. Bradley asking him if he would be willing to allow us to possibly use his home as a model home in the cayuga county area. Mr. Bradley has lived in king ferry his entire life and owned a very well known auto repair shop for decades. Mr. Bradley was willing to let us talk with his daughters and himself one really snowy day and we thought about canceling the appointment due to weather but know how hard sometimes it is to get family members together. We ended up showing them our lines of windows and we decided to go with a mid grade window. We actually are replacing 22 of his pella windows! We suggested they go with a mid grade window to keep the costs down without sacrificing quality. Sometimes when there is unsurity about how long the house will be lived in it makes sense to not go with a super high grade window. When you consult with C. Pat & Jerry Merante Installed! Model home in SYRACUSE

We just wrapped up an installation for Mr. and Mrs. Merante, who were very satisfied to have Seven windows replaced by C. Michael Exteriors!! Jerry and Pat live in the eastwood section of Syracuse. Jerry told our carpenter that he was really surprised at how good our sales consultant was! Now Jerry has been in sales for over 30 years keep in mind!! Jerry and Pat Merante said that the installation went great and that our crew was a great group of guys! Some of their windows were replaced a few years ago by another vinyl window company in Syracuse but they still decided to go ahead with us after seeing what we had to offer. Now they are looking at a bay or bow window to replace the three old drafty replacements done years ago.

New Tax Credit Available!!

Just within the last few weeks there has been a significant tax credit available to certain homeowners who have replaced their windows this year. In previous years the energy requirements were pretty lax as to what type of window you had to put in. As long as the windows were energy star qualified (U value of less than .35), It would entitle you to a 10% tax credit up to $200.

Now finally the government is headed in the right direction by revamping the credit to allow up to a 30% credit maxing out at $1500!!!! I cant tell you how much this helps our business and the industry as well. Whats the catch?? You now have to meet much stricter energy ratings that exceed the energy star qualifications. The U factor rating on the window must be equal or lower to .30 which basically rules out the windows you would find in home depot or lowes, as well as many lumber yards. It would be safe to say that any window you find sitting on the shelf at these large supply centers will NOT qualify for this tax credit. I would advise you that with any tax matter please consult a qualified cpa or tax attorney to verify that you will be able to claim the tax credit available on windows.
